About this event

Calling all dads, step dads, grandads, uncles, brothers or any male figure. Here is your chance to understand more about how to support your little ones development!

We know that mums play a huge part in children's development but you play just as big of a part too and we would love for you to take part in our free FRED programme. Dads only sorry mums!

Do you want your child to:

  • Do better in school
  • Have higher self esteem
  • Build better relationships with other children
  • Have better behaviour
  • Grow in to more successful and happier adult

Of course you do because no matter your role, it's what we all want for our children.

FRED is ran over 4 weeks and takes up very little of your time. There will be 2 virtual meetings that last 30 minutes, one that you are signing up to now and then one 4 weeks later. In weeks two and three it's just a quick text and phone call from us to see how you are getting on and answer any question you might have. - Honestly it's that easy and we guarantee your child will benefit for years to come!

"I didn't realise just how important reading would be and now I am spending more time with my daughter because of FRED" - Quote from a dad who joined FRED

Frequently asked questions

  • Do I have to take time off of work to join FRED ?

No you don't have to take any time away from work. Our two virtual sessions are when dads are likely to be home. If we don't have a time to suit you, just let us know and we can see what we can do to make sure that you are included.

  • I can't read very well, will this work for me and my child?

That's ok and don't worry. This will help you support your child to learn new words and get a love of books. You don't have to read word for word you can just look at the pictures and make up your own story.

  • I don't live in the same house as my child. Can I take part too.

Absolutely yes! There are many different ways to share stories, that could be when you have visits, or over Facetime if you have it even WhatsApp face call. We can share ideas with you.
